World Rugby Published Dates For Disciplinary Hearing
World Rugby has published the following update confirming the independent disciplinary hearings resulting from the men’s international matches held over the weekend of 10-11 July, 2021.
With some logistical details yet to be determined owing to team movements, a further update will be published in due course confirming the independent judicial panel member appointments and any further updates from the weekend’s matches.
Independent disciplinary update: Riekert Hattingh (USA)
USA flanker Riekart Hattingh will attend an independent disciplinary hearing after he received a red card for an act of foul play contrary to Law 9.13 (dangerous tackle) in USA’s international match against Ireland on 10 July, 2021.
The player will attend a hearing via video conference before an independent Judicial Committee chaired by Samantha Hillas QC (England). Ms Hillas QC will be joined by two panel members appointed from the World Rugby Judicial Panel to be confirmed in due course.
The hearing will take place on Tuesday, 13 July 2021 at 19:30 BST.
Independent disciplinary update: Juan Cruz Mallia (Argentina)
Argentina full-back Juan Cruz Mallia will attend an independent disciplinary hearing after he received a red card for an act of foul play contrary to Law 9.13 (dangerous tackle) in Argentina’s international match against Wales on 10 July, 2021.
The player will attend a hearing via video conference before an independent Judicial Committee chaired by Roddy Dunlop QC (Scotland), joined by former international Becky Essex (England) and former international referee Donal Courtney (Ireland).
The hearing will take place on Monday, 12 July 2021 at a time to be agreed with the player and his representatives.
Independent disciplinary update: Jaden Hendrikse (Cell C Sharks)
Cell C Sharks scrum-half Jaden Hendrikse will attend an independent disciplinary hearing after he received a red card for an act of foul play contrary to Law 9.12 (striking) in the Cell C Sharks’ match against the British and Irish Lions on 10 July, 2021.
The player will attend a hearing via video conference before an independent Judicial Committee chaired by Stephen Hardy (Australia), joined by former internationals David Croft and John Langford (both Australia).
The hearing will take place on a date and time to be agreed with the player and his representatives.
