Couldn’t Make Tiger Street Festival? We’ve Got You, Here Are All The Deets!
Owerri residents were thrilled with a wide range of street food and drinks at the just concluded Tiger street food festival held over the weekend. The commercial city was lit not just by street lights but with flames and fire from grills and barbeques stands.
Sponsored by Tiger Beer, the aromatic beer brand from Nigerian Breweries, the festival was a fusion of food, music and arts. Street food vendors such as Annie’s Kitchen and Events, Doris Restaurant and Bar, Maozy Foods, Ochuido Restaurant, Cubana and more enthralled the palates of all who attended with their culinary creativity.
So, in case you missed it, here are some of our favourite moments from the festival!
Food, food and more food:
We had a tasty-licious experience sampling all the sumptuous delicacies and grills and of course ice-cold Tiger beer. These interesting and unconventional food flavours challenged our taste buds and left us asking for more. We were undoubtedly uncaged.
The Music:
Food and beer pairing aside, we were serenaded with music from Nigerian singer & songwriter, Bella Shmurda and Five Star Music rapper, Xbusta. The audience swayed rhythmically as the Cash App crooner performed song after song much to the excitement of the satiated crowd. Xbusta also did his thing as guests rapped along to his songs and tapped their feet. This is undoubtedly the most fun activity the residents of Owerri have had in recent times.
Picture-perfect Moments:
With a limited number of fun activities in town, the tiger in us came alive and roared bravely as we captured moments and clicked away on our phones. Nigerian Graffiti Artist, The Flying Bushman, unafraid to embrace new challenges, uncaged his creativity with eye-popping urban graffiti and neon paintings. Fun-seekers at the event were given an opportunity to take social media by storm with visually appealing paintings and exciting pictures of art and food.
Tiger Beer:
Everywhere you turned, there was a chilled can or bottle of the crispy tasting beer and we just couldn’t get enough.
We are still reeling from all the fun we had and can’t wait for the next city the festival will be taken to.
Tiger Street Food Festival is an opportunity for Nigerian Breweries to support the street food market and creatives to generate more cash and keep their business afloat within the social distancing regulations.
