JAMB Changes Literature Texts For Language Subjects Ahead Of 2022 UTME

JAMB has changed 2022 UTME literature texts for language subjects ahead of the forthcoming 2022 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

Brand News Day Nigeria reports that the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) made this disclosure that it has switched literature texts in four language subjects alongside Literature- in-English, ahead of the 2022 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

This online news platform noted that JAMB made this announcement in its weekly bulletin issued on Monday that the four language subjects are Hausa, Igbo, Yoruba, and Arabic.

JAMB New 2022 UTME Literature Texts For 2022 UTME Language Subjects

Literature-in-English 2022 UTME

First off, the Literature-in-English texts for 2022 UTME are as follow:

Lion and the Jewel by Wole Soyinka;

Look Back in Anger’ by John Osborne;

Unexpected Joy at Dawn by Alex Agyei Agyiri.’

`Heights’ by Emile Bronte.

Arabic Language Literature Text 2022 UTME

For the Arabic language, “The Nigerian Arabic Poems: a case study between the old and the new” by Abdulwahab Shith is one of the new texts.

Diwaanur Riyardh: A collection of Arabic Poems by Dr. Isah Abubakar is also one of the new texts.

Hausa language Literature Text 2022 UTME

Moving on, the examination body stated that for Hausa language, it has changed the literature novel to: “Prose (Zube) Turmin Danya, Poetry (Waka) Wakokin Hausa and Drama (Wasan kwaikwayo) Abin Da Kamar Wuya 3 as the new texts.

Igbo language Literature Text 2022 UTME

Correspondingly, the JAMB board also added that the new literature texts for Igbo will include “Prose (Iduuazi) Chinedu Ofomata (2009), Poetry (Abu) Nolue Emenanjo and Drama, (Ejije) Odunke Artists (1981).

Yoruba language Literature Text 2022 UTME

Similarly, the new texts for the Yoruba Language have been listed as `Akojopo Alo Ijapa, Apa Kinni, by Adeboye Babalola;

`Awon Oriki Orile Metadinlogbon’ by Adeboye Babalola.
