The exchange rate between the Naira and the US dollar according to the data posted on the FMDQ Security Exchange where forex is officially traded showed that the naira opened at N431.33 per dollar on Tuesday, 4th October 2022, after it closed at N430.83 per $1 on Friday, 30th September 2022.
Notably, BrandNewsDay Nigeria reports that the CBN dollar to naira rate, the apex bank buys the dollar at ₦416.16 rate and sells it at the rate of ₦431.33.

The local currency opened at N725.00 per $1 at the parallel market otherwise known as the black market, today, Tuesday, 4th October 2022, in Lagos Nigeria, after it closed at N723.00 per $1 on Monday, 3rd October 2022.
Even though the dollar to naira opened in the parallel market at ₦725 per $1 today, BrandNewsDay reports that the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) does not recognise the parallel market, otherwise known as the black market.
The apex bank has therefore directed anyone who requires forex to approach their bank, insisting that the I&E window is the only known exchange.
