Tragic events occurred at Tarai village of Kibiya Local Government Area of Kano State as a result of a structure collapse that claimed the lives of three siblings, BRANDNEWSDAY report.
When Saleh Jili led a group on a condolence visit to the village, he was informed by the deceased’s father, Abubakar Usman. Usman is the executive secretary of the state emergency management agency.
He mentioned Umar Abubakar, Aliyu Abubakar, and their sister Aisha Abubakar as the deceased.
The father claims that on August 7th, when their mother’s chamber fell as a result of two days of intense rain, the siblings, ages 4, 5, and 7, perished.
He said, “While I was out of town on a business trip, I received a call from a relative alerting me of the passing of my three biological children.
The father of the three deceased children recalled, “On the 17th day I received a call at 6:am that one of the rooms in my house had collapsed and resulted to the death of all my three children.

Alkasim Shike, the LGA’s chairman, praised SEMA and the Kano state government for their prompt action and gift of supplies.
He said that shortly after the incident, the local government council provided necessary assistance to Abubakar’s family.
“We are appealing to the people to take note of all that will lead to this kind of disaster,” he said.
Saleh Jili, Executive Secretary of SEMA, said Governor Ganduje was very upset by the loss of the young children while leading a team to Kibiya.
He said that the organization would put together a thorough report for later submission to the State Government for appropriate action.
