  • Click on DL Application, then select New Driver’s License.
  • Enter your driving school certificate number and fill in your personal details accurately. Your name must match your NIN exactly.
  • Select your preferred FRSC Driver’s License Centre for biometric capture and book an appointment.
  • Make payment through the Remita gateway on the portal. You can pay by card, bank transfer, or USSD. Do not pay anyone outside the portal.
  • Print your payment receipt and attend your biometric appointment on the scheduled date with all your original documents.
  • A temporary license valid for 60 days will be issued while your permanent license is processed.

What you need before you start your driver’s license:

You must attend an FRSC-accredited driving school first. Without a driving school certificate, your application will be rejected. Driving school fees run from N15,000 to N35,000 depending on the school. You also need your NIN, a valid means of identification, and a passport photograph.

The process is online and self-service. Anyone offering to help you for a fee outside the official portal is taking your money and putting your application at risk.
