Driver’s License Application: How To Obtain Drivers License For ₦6,500

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) stated that you only need to pay ₦6,300 to obtain a fresh Driver’s License in Nigeria. While the Driver’s license for five years duration cost ₦10, 400—excluding other charges.

How Much is Driver’s License?

As against the claims by the FRSC, it’s imperative to note that the price excludes other expenses. The price conceals more than it appears, as many times applicants often pay between ₦20,000 to ₦28, 0000, to process their licenses.

Contrarily, many Nigerians believe that the actual amount to pay for the license doesn’t exceed ₦6, 300, but it is without the taxes, Value Added charges (VAT) and other charges i.e, bank charges.

The above amount is only limited to applicants following the due processes. This process is presumed as an extremely complicated and tedious process of obtaining the rider’s permit.

Nigerian Drivers License

Processing of a driver’s license is a very terrifying and stressful process before you can obtain the license. This led to the causes of why many applicants outsourced the procurement process to intermediaries or agents to facilitate the procedure. These intermediaries are the ones who always skyrocket the exact amount to be paid for the processing of Driver’s license to as high as N25,000 to N28,000.

Amid public outcries, the difficulties applicants face while processing their driver’s license still remains unchanged. The simplicity claims by the issuing authorities for the procurement process remains only lip service.
