The exchange rate between the Naira and the US dollar according to the data posted on the FMDQ Security Exchange where forex is officially traded showed that the naira opened at N417.17 per dollar on Friday, 16 September 2022, after it closed at N417.16 per $1 on Thursday, 15th September 2022.
Notably, BrandNewsDay Nigeria reports that the CBN dollar to naira rate, the apex bank buys the dollar at ₦416.16 rate and sells it at the rate of ₦417.17.

The local currency opened at N709.00 per $1 at the parallel market otherwise known as the black market, today, Sunday, 18 September 2022, in Lagos Nigeria, after it closed at N706.00 per $1 on Saturday, 17th of September 2022.
Even though the dollar to naira opened in the parallel market at ₦709 per $1 today, BrandNewsDay reports that the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) does not recognise the parallel market, otherwise known as the black market.
The apex bank has therefore directed anyone who requires forex to approach their bank, insisting that the I&E window is the only known exchange.
BrandNewsDay Nigeria reports that in the naira to dollar black market, the players buy a dollar for N706 and sell for N709 on Sunday morning, 18th of September 2022, after purchasing at N702 and selling for N706 on Saturday, September 17th, 2022.
Meanwhile, Brand News Day Nigeria reports that the USD started this week at ₦705 in Parallel Market, also known as Black Market on Monday, September 12, 2022, in Lagos Nigeria, after it opened at ₦700 last week Monday, September 5, 2022.
