Chief Joshua Oyedele Olugbodi Goes Home At 94

The Olugbodi Family of Ara Kingdom in Egbedore Local Government Area of of Osun State have announced the death of their patriarch Chief Joshua Oyedele Olugbodi.

BrandNewsDay reports that Chief Olugbodi, a former senior executive of the Central Bank of Nigeria, died on Saturday, December 6, 2025 at the age of 94.

A celebrated community leader and philanthropist , he was the Bobagunwa of Ara, who had also had a stint as the Chairman of Egbedore Local Government, Osun State.

He is survived by his wife, Grace Olabisi and many children and grandchildren.

One of his children Dr Tunji Olugbodi, the Executive Vice Chairman of Verdant Zeal Communications Ltd who is also the Asiwaju of Ara said of his demise: “we are devastated by the death of Baba and we are sad to see him go, but we are grateful to God for his life of sacrifice, impact and exemplary service to mankind”.

Burial arrangements will be announced in due course.
