BrandNewsDay reports that a delegation from the All Progressives Congress was led by Sanwo-Olu, the governor of Lagos State, to visit Nyesom Wike, the governor of Rivers State. Rotimi Akeredolu, the governor of Ondo, Kayode Fayemi, and other party leaders also participated in the visit.
According to speculations, the goal is to persuade Wike and other disgruntled PDP members to support the current administration before the general elections in 2023.
There had been rumours that Tinubu and Wike had met in France before the PDP split with the advent of Atiku.
BrandNewsDay Nigeria Recall that at the time, Tunde Rahman, the spokeswoman for Tinubu, called the claim “false news.”
In the meantime, Wike was rumoured to have avoided the PDP candidate Atiku Abubakar’s envoys in Turkey a few days ago.
