BrandNewsDay Nigeria had reported on Thursday, April 14, 2022, that the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Usman Baba has approved the promotion of 21,039 junior officers of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF).
This online news platform understands that Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Muyiwa Adejobi announced the approval in a statement on Thursday, April 14, 2022. The officers on the list of police promotion 2022 were last elevated on or before 2017.

20,572 Sergeants to Inspector
324 Corporals to Sergeants
143 Constables to Corporal
The Force Public Relations Officer said police promotion is part of efforts aimed at improving the welfare, and conditions of service and boosting the morale of personnel for greater efficiency.
The statement added that the IGP’s move is part of “ongoing efforts aimed at improving welfare, conditions of service, boosting the morale of personnel, with a view to repositioning the Force for greater efficiency.”
“The Force high command is liaising with the Police Service Commission on the release of their promotion, which is expected to be approved and released as soon as possible,” he assured.
However, Brand News Day Nigeria reports that as of Thursday evening when the news of the police promotion broke, the full list of newly promoted police officers consisting of 20,572 Sergeants to Inspector, 324 Corporals to Sergeants, and 143 Constables to Corporal, was not online but it has now been exclusively obtained by this online news platform.
