United Bank for Africa (UBA) is one of the championing banks in the Nigerian banking industry, it has, therefore, reeled out vacancies for qualified applicants in Nigeria.

Brandnewsday understands that UBA with about 65 years of experience in the financial sector has been providing uninterrupted banking operations since 1948 when the British and French Bank Limited (“BFB”) commenced operation in Africa’s Giant’s country—Nigeria.

As a corollary, UBA became the first sub-Saharan bank to take its banking business to North America when it opened its New York Office (USA) in 1984 to offer banking services to Africans in Diaspora.

Job Description:

  • To Provide 24X7X365 access to Finacle application to UBA NIGERIA.

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring smooth running and availability of Finacle 24 x 7 for UBA Nigeria.
  • Finacle Application Support 2nd level support and beyond in UBA Nigeria
  • Batch Job set up and review in UBA Nigeria.
  • Ensure that ALL Finacle and CSIS services are up and running on a 24 x 7 basis in UBA Nigeria.
  • General Finacle parameter review and set up/modification
  • Scheme parameter set up, review and modification
  • Liaise with a consultant on EOD/Processing issues
  • Business Office Sol creation on Finacle and set-up
  • Set up, review and modification of Automated Charges

Key Performance Indicators:

  • 24X7X365 (24/7 throughout the year) access to Finacle application to UBA Nigeria.
  • Turnaround time in line with SLA on Finacle Support in UBA Nigeria

Qualifications and Requirements:

Education:

  • BSc and other relevant professional qualifications

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years of cognate Banking experience
  • Key Competency Requirements

Knowledge:

  • Good knowledge of Banking
  • Finacle Administration
  • Knowledge of SQL
  • Knowledge of Bank policy and best practices

Team Member, Data Warehouse

Job Specifications:

  • Full Time
  • Required Qualifications: BA/BSC/HND
  • Location: Lagos

Job Description:

  • Responsible for instituting and enforcing standard procedures as regards to Data quality and accuracy of the reporting system
  • Leading initiatives that relate to ensuring Master Data Management is in place across all Integration systems thereby increasing data reliability.

Responsibilities
Business Requirements:

  • Effective liaison with requesting units/business users in gathering requirements and conducting related analysis in order to achieve optimal results Build a trust relationship with the Business Unit staff (executive to junior official).
  • Implementation of strict compliance within the Data warehouse
  • Serve as a business interface with the support team on data/validation issues
  • Liaise with technology on any extraction bottlenecks, ensure that measures are in place to maintain a clean data warehouse with highly reduced unclean data
  • Detailed Business Requirement for Business Reporting, which results in frequent change requests to meet business demands

Data Warehouse Review:

  • Data profiling
  • Data discovery
  • Information chain analysis and management
  • Root cause analysis
  • Ensure data and mapping quality

Execution and Support:

  • Propose and effect the execution of improvement initiatives to the bank’s BI/Data warehouse environment
  • Work with Data warehouse team in supporting/maintaining performance management driven dashboards E.g Performance Scorecard, ATM Profitability, Deposit Volume, E-product Enrolment, etc.
  • Liaise with users on regular basis with a view to providing a proactive approach to problem resolution.

Process Improvement:

  • Contribute to the improvement of the BI/MIS platforms or processes via innovative ideas, strategies and related initiatives
  • Alignment and Perform other duties as may be assigned by Head IT Enterprise Applications
  • Data quality assurance measures across the industry
  • Integration of other enterprise data system for rapid and efficient dissemination of financial information and data analytics bank-wide.

United Bank for Africa (UBA): Data Management Repository:

  • Maintain inventory of data content (structure, level of detail and amount of history).
  • Periodically review all data contained in the BI environment to identify opportunities for improvement of problem avoidance
  • Co-ordination of a metadata solution of incompatibility between the warehousing environment and other systems.

Qualifications and Requirements:
Education:

  • First degree in any relevant field of study.
  • Post graduate degree or a professional qualification will be an advantage.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years experience of which 2 years must have been spent in a similar role in Data Warehouse & Data Quality

  • Extensive knowledge of the bank’s policies and products
  • Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent interpretation of business needs into operational requirements.
  • Advanced knowledge of business intelligence tools.

  • Location: Lagos
Job Description:
  • To ensure continuous uninterrupted support of Regulatory and Compliance Support Application
  • Enterprise-wide within the frame of the agreed service levels through best practices.
  • To ensure business continuity and disaster recovery operations of Regulatory and Compliance Application Support Application Enterprise wide and ensure there is 99.99% service availability and zero data loss in the event of disaster events.
  • To apply proven communication and Service Management skills on issues related to the support of Regulatory and Compliance Application Support Application Enterprise wide.

Responsibilities
Documentation of Enterprise architecture baseline:

  • Ensure proper documentation of Enterprise Application support process / procedures and Configuration items.
  • Ensure up-to-date procedures for both end-users and operators of these systems.

Process optimization:

  • Ensure timely understanding of any new software integration into company systems.
  • Ensure preventative maintenance, including the installation of service packs, patches, hotfixes, anti-virus software is carried out as and when due.
  • Ensuring smooth running and availability of 99.99% Payment System Application 24 x 7×365

Project Delivery Effectiveness:

  • Managing assigned projects and program components to deliver services in accordance with established objectives.
  • Perform any project task as may be assigned by the Team Lead, Enterprise Application Support UBA Africa.

Accuracy of application Configuration to reduced errors resulting from inaccurate configuration of data:

  • Take necessary and prompt corrective actions to ensure the achievement of set objectives.

Issue Closure within TAT:

  • Ensure that support Issue raised by the business are resolved within the agreed TAT.
  • Ensure mitigation against future occurrences

Ad-hoc Duties:

  • Render periodic report for management decision making.
  • Perform other duties as may be assigned by the Unit Head, Other Banking App Support & Monitoring.

  • First degree in Computer Science / Engineering, Systems Engineering or Operational sciences with strong Information Systems component.

  • 2 years relevant experience within a technology intensive environment (Financial Services, Telecommunications, etc)
