According to CNN, on April 20, 2020, the United States is monitoring intelligence that suggests Kim is in grave danger after undergoing a previous surgery, revealed by a US official with direct knowledge. Another US official tells CNN that the concerns about Kim’s health are credible but the severity is hard to assess.

In several conflicting reports on Kim’s health, on April 24,  a popular Japanese weekly magazine, Shukan Gendai reported that among the Chinese medical team sent to North Korea, a member of on the mission revealed the current situation to its senior writer, Kondm Daisuke.

According to Shukan Gendai Magazine, the medical expert said during a visit to the countryside earlier this month, Kim grabbed his chest and fell to the ground. A doctor accompanying Kim immediately carried out CPR and took him to a nearby hospital for emergency care.

Consequently, the doctor immediately demanded assistance from a medical team from Beijing. However, before the arrival of the Chinese medical team, the North Korean doctor performed cardiac surgery at the hospital that led to confusions due to the North Korea Dictator’s obesity and the doctor’s fear.

In a by the Reuters, the delegation who left Beijing on Thursday was headed by a senior member of the Chinese Communist party’s international liaison department has left Beijing for North Korea.

Meanwhile, a Seoul-based website, Daily NK has confirmed earlier this week that Kim was recovering after he underwent a cardiovascular procedure on 12 April, quoting an anonymous source within North Korea.
