Ikorodu Celine Dion
Ikorodu Celine Dion is trending because that’s the new slander name Twitter NG has chosen for singer Simi, aside from Ikorodu Whitney Houston.
Brand News Day Nigeria reports that popular Duduke Crooner Singer has been tagged as ‘Low budget Ikorodu Celine Dion’ over a social media post she reacted to for siding with a ‘r*pe accuser’.
This is after her controversial takes on a r*pe controversy on the popular micro-blogging platform, X (formerly Twitter). She sought castration for rapists and implied that those seeking punishment for false accusers are also rapists.
Perhaps not rightly put, but her opinion wasn’t welcomed lightly by some X users. It got Twitter questioning her intelligence and her popularity as a singer.
Simi said, ”I am sick of this. Stop Rping women. They need to castrate rpists and burn them.”
A Twitter user responded by asking, including the false accusers, too: Auntie Simi?
She responded with a remark with ‘STFU‘.
Hence, the supposed demeaning rename, portraying her as a local wannabe vocalist.
Oh, Celine Dion is a legendary 57-year-old Canadian vocal powerhouse regarded as one of the greatest vocalists of all time, with a technically strong voice and emotional ballads. The only Nigerians who may be closely gifted are Waje, Omawunmi and Niniola.
Celine Dion is currently battling with Stiff Person Syndrome, affecting her ability to sing, speak, walk or talk. It is a neurological disorder. She has 5 Grammy Awards with over 200M records sold.
However, the slanderous name “Ikorodu Celine Dion” was first used in 2019, during a TL argument, until last night, when it got christened to AG’s BABY.
