BrandNewsDay reports that the Lagos State Government, through its ministry of education, has ordered the closure of Chrisland School, Opebi-Ikeja over the death of one of its students, Whitney Adeniran.
The closure, which is temporary was communicated through the Lagos state government’s Instagram handle in the late hours of Sunday.
On Sunday, the management of Chrisland Schools had exonerated themselves of any guilt around the death of 12-year-old Miss Whitney Adediran who allegedly slumped during a sporting event on the school premises.
According to the Statement “A release signed by the State Commissioner for Education, Mrs Folasade Adefisayo said the closure was ordered pending the outcome of a full investigation into the unfortunate incident.
“We also note the impact of this unfortunate event on family, friends and acquaintance of Whitney and call for calm as we assure that no effort will be spared in investigating the incident.”
