NNPP: Six Kwankwaso Supporters Die In Nasarawa Auto Crash

A car accident has claimed the lives of no fewer than six supporters of Rabiu Kwankwaso, the presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), BRANDNEWSDAY learnt.

While Kwankwaso was in the state for a meeting with party stakeholders over the weekend in Lafia, the capital of Nasarawa, the accident that claimed their lives took place.

BRANDNEWSDAY gathered, the victims died as a result of a vehicle carrying the former governor of Kano state’s supporters losing control and performing many somersaults.

While two accident victims passed away in the hospital, four more passed away at the scene.

Other passengers in the other vehicles had injuries of varying severity, and they are being treated in a state government hospital that isn’t being publicly identified.

The NNPP’s presidential candidate, Rabiu Kwankwaso, visited the families of the victims before going back to his camp and offered them condolences for the tragic event.

Governor of Nasarawa State Abdullahi Sule has expressed regret at the untimely passing of NNPP supporters.

He expressed his sympathies to the victims’ families and the party’s top brass for the terrible occurrence.

Sule also encouraged greater care as the nation moves closer to another election campaign in a statement released by his chief press secretary, Ibrahim Addra, and provided to our correspondent in Lafia on Tuesday.

He offered a prayer asking God to accept the souls of those who died in the disaster and wished those who were hurt a speedy recovery.
