UBA Improves Chatbot Leo’s Features

United Bank for Africa (UBA) has expanded the services of Leo, its AI chatbot, to Google Business Chat and Instagram.

BrandNewsDay Nigeria reports that Leo – UBA’s AI-powered chatbot, features are to be enhanced soon as the AI-powered chatbo.

“Leo – UBA’s AI-powered chatbot, which enables customers to use their social media accounts to carry out key banking transactions – was first introduced in January 2018,” the bank said in a statement.

“It has since evolved into a customized, personalized virtual banker for several UBA customers across its 20 African countries.”

Previously, UBA’s Leo was said to be serving customers via Facebook Messenger, Whatsapp, and Apple Chat.

The bank also improved the existing features of Leo, allowing customers to carry out their tasks in a 3D animated format.

”Customers would now be able to carry out more transactions from the comfort of their homes, thanks to this upgrade and its recent expansion to Instagram and Google Business.

Adding that customers could perform more activities such as funds transfer, checking balances, buying airtime and data, and getting their bank statements from any of these social media platforms.

Kennedy Uzoka, Group Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of UBA, explained that the bank was always looking for innovative ways to develop strategies aimed at easing transactions for the bank’s numerous users while ensuring the utmost safety of their transactions.
