BrandNewsDay Nigeria reports that the management of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has hit that it is optimistic about a hitch-free examination scheduled for May.
This online newspaper understands that the education board made this known in its Weekly Bulletin of the Office of the Registrar in Abuja on Monday.
Having earlier scheduled the 2022 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination to hold between May 6 and May 16, the board assured it was ready to deliver a seamless exercise in its main examination, in all its 757 centres across the country.

BrandNewsDay Nigeria reports that JAMB has revealed that about 1,837,011 candidates have been registered in the ongoing UTME/DE registration as of March 26th, 2022.
This online Newspaper platform confirmed that JAMB made this disclosure in the weekly bulletin of the board. Prospective candidates are to note that the registration for 2022 UTME has ended on March 26th, 2022.
Notably, the number of registered candidates this year shows an increase when compared to the total of 1,338,687 candidates registered for the 2021 JAMB registration. Meanwhile, the examination board registered about 2.1 million candidates in 2020 (pre-NIN and Covid era).
It was gathered that a good number of candidates who were willing to register for the exam were unable to do so before the deadline due to various issues. The board had earlier announced that there will not be any extension due to the fact that the board is working within the strict timeline allocated for the exam.
