Airtel Nigeria has released Airtel NIN Registration Locations in Lagos and Abuja as the Federal Government approved the service provider to commence the National Identity Number (NIN) exercise in its retail outlets across the country.
Brandnewsday reports that the FG has granted the telecommunications services provider, a verification and enrolment license to register citizens.
Airtel Nigeria disclosed that it only authorized some selected retail outlets in Lagos and Abuja to fully begin the operate the registration to Nigerians for the NIN exercise.
According to the Nigeria telecom provider, ”work is currently ongoing to expand its NIN footprints to cover more areas and states.”
Speaking further, the service provider disclosed that residents of Abuja can visit Airtel NIN registration Location in Transcorp Hilton situated in Mataima or Airtel showrooms at Carpet Plaza and Kano Crescent in Wuse 2.
Meanwhile, residents can walk into Airtel NIN Registration Location In Lagos; Airtel Express Point, Oyin Jolayemi, Victoria Island or Airtel showroom in Adeniran Ogunsanya, Surulere, Lagos.
Lagos residents can also visit the Airtel showroom in Tejuosho, Yaba; Airtel showroom in Isheri Road, Ogba and the Airtel showroom in Oba Akran, Ikeja to register for the NIN exercise.

Commenting on the development, the Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director, Airtel Nigeria, Segun Ogunsanya, applauded the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Dr Isa Ali Pantami, for expanding the registration footprints and taking definitive steps to smoothen the NIN registration process for Nigerians.
He said: “Airtel is always seeking opportunities to cooperate and partner with the Nigerian government on initiatives that will make life easier and better for Nigerians.

Meanwhile, customers who already have NINs have the option to send their NINs to Airtel via USSD, SMS or through the Airtel Self Care app or website to update their SIM registration details.
Also, the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy has stated that the deadline for the NIN registration still holds on February 9, 2021, across the nation.
However, many Nigerians are optimistic that the said date would be extended as earlier done because millions of people are yet to get the enrollment done due to the tedious process.
