Why I suspended Immigrant Visas In The US- President Trump Explains

The United States President, Donald Trump has disclosed that he temporarily suspended immigrants to protect American workers as the country prepares to reopen for business.

Brandnewsday gathered that President Trump on Wednesday evening at White House has made known the reasons for the decision he made on his new executive order, which temporarily suspended immigrant visas.

According to President Trump, this will put American workers who lost their jobs due to the Coronavirus pandemic in line to regain employment when the economy reopens.

Speaking further the US President added that the order would last for 60 days which may be reviewed and extended at the appropriate time.

Trump said, “In order to protect our great American workers, I have just signed an executive order temporarily suspending immigration into the United States.

“This will ensure that unemployed Americans of all backgrounds will be first in line for jobs as our economy reopens.”

He reiterated that the action would “preserve our healthcare resources for American patients” affected by the dreaded coronavirus disease.

Meanwhile, the total number of confirmed cases in the United States are 855,250; while 78,353 have recovered and 47,974 death has been recorded.

What Is An Immigrant Visa?

Immigrant visas are those issued to foreigners approved to move permanently to the United State of America.

While some of the immigrant visas also are granted to those who have jobs waiting for them, including nurses.
